Introduction:
​Securing a fine beverage collection while allowing selective access can be challenging. Traditional locks are inconvenient, prone to misplacement, and fail to fit all bottle sizes. Frustration grows when prized wines are misused or spirits disappear at gatherings, highlighting the need for a smarter solution.​​SafeLid redefines bottle security with an IoT-enabled smart lock controlled via a password-protected mobile app. It fits various bottle sizes, allowing owners to grant or revoke access instantly. Real-time alerts notify users of unauthorized attempts, while seamless app-based unlocking ensures security without hassle.​​ Its versatile design accommodates various bottle sizes, safeguarding everything from wine to spirits.

​Product Overview:
SafeLid is a smart bottle lock designed for selective access, a feature missing in traditional combination or key-based locks. Unlike these conventional methods, SafeLid is controlled via an app, providing a secure and shareable locking system. Users can authorize access permanently or temporarily and monitor unauthorized disturbances. The app's interface is designed to be as intuitive as social media apps, ensuring ease of use. SafeLid connects via Bluetooth to establish a link, allowing remote unlocking. When a user requests access from a remote location, the unauthorized access attempt activates a built-in vibration sensor. The bottle's owner can approve access to authorized users, via push notifications the app sends an unlock command to the device.

​SafeLid is specifically designed for premium alcoholic beverage bottles, addressing the challenge of varying lid sizes. Unlike competitors with fixed diameters, SafeLid consists of two parts:

The Securing Component, a rubberized securing ring available in three sizes (15.5mm, 18.5mm, 21.5mm) for different bottle lids, ensuring a snug fit.

The Locking Control, the core device containing the lock mechanism, Bluetooth/WIFI module, vibration sensor, and microcontroller. The locking mechanism uses an actuator-controlled rod, which aligns with the securing component to unlock the bottle.
The modular design allows interchangeable securing components while keeping the locking control unchanged, ensuring compatibility across multiple bottle types. SafeLid’s adaptability and app integration make it a superior alternative to traditional bottle locks.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​
